Why a form says it is closed
Understand the "not yet available" and "no longer available" messages you might see instead of a form, what a bad or expired link looks like, and what to do next.
Before you start
- This page is for when you open a form link and see a message instead of the form itself. You don't need an Incenti account to fill out or submit a public form, so this isn't an access or sign-in problem.
What the message means

- "This form is not yet available" — with the text "[Form name] is not accepting responses yet." The organization created the form but hasn't activated it, so it isn't ready to collect responses yet.
- "This form is no longer available" — with the text "Thank you for your interest. [Form name] is no longer accepting responses." The organization closed the form, or it reached a deadline the organization set for it. Both cases look identical to you — there's no way to tell from the message alone whether it was closed manually or expired.
- A "404 — This page could not be found." page — this means the link itself is wrong or the form no longer exists, rather than being unavailable. Double check you copied the whole link; if it still doesn't work, ask whoever sent it to you for a fresh one.
What happens next
- There's nothing you can do from the form itself. These messages replace the form entirely — there's no way to request access, sign a waitlist, or make the form accept your answers from this screen.
- Contact the organization that sent you the link. They control whether the form is open, and only they can activate it or extend its deadline. Reach out the same way they originally shared the form with you.
- A form can be reopened. If the organization activates a form that was
closed, the same link works again — you don't need a new one. If you had a
draft in progress before the form closed, the organization keeps it, but
you still can't submit it until the form is accepting responses again;
once it is, reopen your saved link (the one with
?appId=in it — see Save progress and come back later) to pick up where you left off.
Common questions
Q: The form worked yesterday and now says it is no longer available. What happened? A: The organization closed the form, or it reached a deadline they had set for it. Either way, the form stopped accepting responses. Contact the organization if you still need to submit — they can reopen it.
Q: I was told the form is live, but it says "not yet available." What's going on? A: The person who shared the link may be ahead of the organization actually turning the form on, or the link was shared before it was activated. Let them know it isn't showing as available yet so they can check on it.
Q: I have a draft I was filling out — did I lose it?
A: No. The organization still has your saved answers even after the form
closes; you just can't submit them while the form is unavailable. Once the
organization reopens the form, open your saved link (the one with ?appId=
in it) again to continue where you left off.
Q: Can I still submit if the deadline has passed? A: No. Once a form's deadline passes, it stops accepting responses the same way as if the organization had closed it manually, and you'll see the "This form is no longer available" message. Contact the organization if you need an extension — only they can change the deadline or reopen the form.
